About Us

When Arthur, Flexpat’s co-founder, was deciding which way to go after his graduation, he felt that he wasn’t ready to give up traveling and settle for a regular career. After all, it is hard to get back to “reality” once the travel bug bites you. He turned to Georgi, an experienced problem solver whom he knew for a long time. They were determined to enable passionate people to live, work, and learn from anywhere. People who want to live on their own terms, all while being surrounded by like-minded people.

So they created Flexpat, the answer to all those who want to have the benefits of an employee while working freely on projects from across the globe. Flexpat is building a community for those who want to grow personally and professionally by making remote work the new norm. Since Flexpat’s inception in late 2016, ten other travel enthusiasts joined the team to turn universal location independence into reality. From our office in Rotterdam (NL), the Flexpat team is working hard to make remote work a common lifestyle.

Meet The Team

Arthur

Explorer

Having visited 30+ countries and eaten duck tongue and guinea pig, Arthur shows he is all about discovering the unknown. A natural risk-taker, he pushes the boundaries with snowboarding, wakeboarding, and surfing. Arthur didn’t like any job, so he created his own. Previously, he worked in several VCs, advised a range of startups, and worked in sales for Rocket Internet.

Georgi

Navigator

At different points, Georgi has been a martial arts competitor, professional poker player, online community builder, theoretical physicist, game theorist, investment banker, and management and startup consultant. He is always curious, and some might even say obsessed, with learning new things -- as if the earth would stop turning if he stops thinking. He loves to travel the world together with his wife, and they are always planning on where to go next.

David

Bard

David has cultivated a lifelong compulsion for adventure. This has taken him across eight countries and some 14+ individual cities in both hemispheres. Prior to Flexpat, David has spent four years and counting as a flexpat, consulting for startups all around the world. An avid believer in the inevitability of ubiquitous location-independence for all professionals, David brings over a decade of experience to the front lines of this rapidly growing revolution.

Adnah

Interpreter

An economics student, Adnah is forever fascinated by the ‘why’ – the causal factor - of things. She is always on the lookout for what makes people tick. Speaking of which, some things that make her tick are languages, literature, art history, fashion and standing up for what is right! Growing up on three continents and in ten schools, meeting new people and embracing different cultures have been always been a part of Adnah’s identity. As she grew older, she realized the immense value and learning these multicultural experiences have added to her life and is excited to help others discover them as well!

Dessi

Wizardess

Dessi has been helping people live a flexible lifestyle for nearly a decade. She is the living proof that working hard and traveling in style is all very much possible. Her son has already been to 6 countries (and is only 7-months-old!) Dessi joined Flexpat as she firmly believes that we are laying the foundations for the future of work. Apart from building virtual worlds around brands, she loves to kitesurf and can often be found in the wind capital of Europe, Tarifa.

Erik

Whaler

For some, being called a "full-time geek" is an insult. For others, it's a badge of honor. Erik belongs to the latter. Apart from "geeking" (is it verb?), Erik loves sailing with his boat, top speed 80km/h, and hanging out with friends. Prior to Flexpat, Erik co-founded a few open source projects and gained proper DevOps experience in various companies.

Marina

Herbalist

Ever since she was little, Marina was fascinated by both new technologies and old civilizations. One moment, you'll find her exploring medieval castles with a book in her hand; the next - she will be the first to try the latest gadgets. Her calm and friendly personality reveals her true love for nature - flowers and animals (especially dogs!). Did we also mention that Marina is a huge Star Wars fan? May the force be with you!

Nikola

Knight

Internationally focused, Nikola is super excited about the future of remote work and business development in general. To him, things in life should always make some sort of intuitive sense - otherwise, they will be restlessly questioned. Being a well-traveled flexpat himself, he firmly believes that leaving one's comfort zone is the only way to go. A professional of high principles, he never rests until the job gets done!

Adina

Squire

When she’s not busy adulting, that is, reluctantly growing up, Adina is constantly searching for the next destination to explore before it becomes mainstream (I’m looking at you, Iceland!). And it’s not just the travels that keeps her on the move – work and studies have had her relocate to four countries in the past five years. Adina went from being a marketing analytics geek in a large company to studying entrepreneurship because... isn’t that how it normally goes? Adina still hopes that one day she can travel the world with her (future) labrador puppy, but until then, she is ready to help other dreamers get there first!

Elena

Messenger

Elena has a high appreciation for true beauty – whether it's found in places, people's faces, or souls. She has her very own collection of memories and experiences and takes every chance to expand it. Elena believes that a smile can turn around one’s day, and sees Flexpat as a way to bring more and more smiles to flexpats around the globe. With her inherent positivity, she always finds a way to make everyone's day a little brighter.

Gerry

Herald

A Bulgarian girl with a German Abitur who ended up in the Netherlands. Armed with a media and a marketing degree, Gerry has helped numerous international start-ups find their true identity and voice. Her wizardry consists of the art and craft of language paired with strategic out-of-the-box thinking. Obviously bitten by the travel bug, Gerry experienced her biggest adventure two years ago when she crossed half Asia on flip-flops.

Lea

Diplomat

Born with a natural drive for change and adventures, frequently moving around and travelling is a natural thing for Lea. After all, there is no better feeling than hiking to 3200 meters and enjoying the view. Always striving to improve herself, she uses her proactive attitude to critically assess and choose the best strategies and put them into practice. If she wasn’t working for Flexpat trying to change the world, Lea would be happy running a puppy hotel.

Niklas

Intrepid Merchant

Niklas is the cooking enthusiast on the team. Having lived in four countries over the past few years has certainly contributed to the variety of his cuisine. Besides treating his body and soul with delicious food and drinks, Niklas loves playing football and tennis. He gained a significant portion of his startup experience in Berlin and has joined Flexpat to help us bring remote work to the world. Also, he used to have goats... cause they’re cooler than dogs.

Sara

Watchmaster

Sàra is still waiting for her Hogwarts letter, but until then, she decided to join Flexpat to change lives. She runs on coffee, never says never to music festivals and really wants to adopt a pug. Sara is always looking for the silver lining and planning to start a revolution from her bed at some point in the future.

Alessandro

Alderman

A humble man, Alessandro believes that he’s the world’s first accent-free Italian who is both a nomadic legal expert and kitesurf instructor. He left the beaten path in his early twenties for the complexities of international law. He spent time all over the world and made remarkable, lifelong friends. His dream day starts with a skate to the office, an insane amount of passionate work, a reading break – perhaps about the latest discoveries in dolphin communication – and an espresso. High on caffeine, he would head out for a kitesurfing session, then end his day staring at the sunset wishing he knew how to write sappy poetry.
